    Mr. Jahue David Church, long time resident of Story, AR, passed away at the age 81, January 3, 2015 in Arkadelphia, AR. at the Courtyard Gardens nursing home.

    He is predeceased by his wife Betty Church of Story and  by his mother Mary Anna Church, his father J. D. Church and his brother, Wayne Church.

    He is survived by his sister Malinda Joyce Sutcliffe of Sterling, Virginia, and by his brother Richard Church of Binghamton, New York.

    There will not be a burial service in Mt. Ida. for Mr. Church.   Instead his cremated remains will be interred with a family memorial service at a future date in Lewisburg, West Virginia. The family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Church to Camp Yolawigo for children in Story, AR.

    Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mt. Ida, AR.

    I worked at Courtyard Gardens until November 2015, I thought Mr. Church was a sweet and kind man. My thoughts and Prayers are with you all. God Bless

    I went to school with David. We all called him "Sonny". He was Senior Class President. He was a regular teen-age boy then. After graduation, he left West Virginia and as far as I know he never returned. Sonny was a good friend.

    Sorry to hear of David's passing. He was a good athlete and a leader at GHS - president of our class of 1954. God bless him and his family.
